Lake Buyan - the Other Half of the Twins

By the local community, this lake is more commonly known as Twin Lake, along with Tamblingan Lake. The title is pinned on these two lakes because of their location which is indeed adjacent. In fact, there is another lake which is not far from the location of Lake Buyan, namely Lake Beratan.
Lake Buyan Bedugul is located between the two lakes. Therefore, it is not surprising that many tourists schedule visits to these 3 beautiful lakes on the island of Bali. In particular, there is also an event called the Twin Lake Festival which is an event to promote tours of Lake Buyan and Tamblingan.
In the Twin Lake Festival, the community is invited to actively participate in the preservation of these two beautiful lakes. In addition, this festival is also a moment to maintain the condition of the protected forest around the lake so that it remains beautiful.
Furthermore, Tamblingan Lake and Buyan Lake Bedugul are only 1 km apart. Between these two lakes, there is a green forest area. In addition, there is also a small lake which the local community calls the Aya Lake.
Lake Buyan Bedugul is located in Pancasasi Village, which is included in the Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency. This natural tourist spot in Bali is located about 73 km from Ngurah Rai International Airport, which can be reached by driving for about 2 hours.
Location of Lake Buyan
Lake Buyan is administratively located at Pancasari Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency. The altitude of the lake is on 1350 meter above sea level, with cool climate and fresh air. Lake Buyan is actually part of a conservation area covering 15,000 hectares of land. The actual lake in Buyan is only 3,9 square kilometers, with maximum depth of 87 meters.
As the lake is located in a conservation area, it is managed by Natural Resources Conservation Hall (Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam Bali). The management’s office is located just by the lake. This office also function as a good information center for tourists.
