Lovina Beach, Bali – Dolphin Trips and Black Sandy Beaches
Lovina Beach – Lovina, the calm coastal town of North Bali, is famous for early-morning dolphin cruises. It stretches along 8 kilometers of black sandy beach. This resort town was founded in the 1950s as a vision of Anak Agung Panji Tisna, the monarch of Buleleng Regency, who wished for this region to become a well-known tourist destination on Bali. On his grounds, he erected a tiny cabin and christened it “Lovina.” Many battles were fought before the resort was accepted as a tourist destination by the people and the government. Nowadays, Lovina is a popular tourist resort in North Bali, attracting visitors from all over the world.
Lovina is less hectic than the southern Kuta-Legian-Seminyak conurbation and is popular with travellers looking for a tranquil and relaxed vacation in Bali. It begins 6 kilometers west of Singaraja and includes seven traditional villages: Tukad Mungga, Permaron, Kaliasem, Anturan, Kalibukbuk, Banyualit, and Temukus. Kalibukbuk is the main tourist attraction in Lovina, with a variety of facilities such as bars, pubs, restaurants, retail complexes, and numerous lodging alternatives.
When is the best time to go
Because of the ideal weather conditions, the months of May through August are ideal for a vacation to Lovina. July–August and December are the busiest months for tourists in Lovina, and the town is packed with visitors from all around Indonesia and other countries during these months. Lovina is a peaceful part of Bali Island outside of these months. The rainy season in Bali lasts from October to March, however travel is still viable throughout this period.

How to get there
Fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport, which is located in the southern section of Bali. Pre-paid and metered taxis are accessible from the airport, and the trip to Lovina takes around 3 hours.
All main tourist locations in Bali, including Kuta, Ubud, Sanur, Candidasa, Denpasar, Singaraja, and Padang Bai, have Perama shuttle bus service to Lovina. The shuttle service is more expensive than public bemos, which are only available for short distances. So, if you’re going from a town in southern Bali, you’ll probably have to change bemos twice or three times to get to Lovina. However, public buses to Lovina are available along the beach route, such as from Tulamben in eastern Bali or Gilimanuk in western Bali.
