Banyumala Waterfall In Bali Guide
Banyumala Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the Island of the Gods. Even though the visitors are not as busy as Gitgit Waterfall, this waterfall has extraordinary natural appeal. There are three streams of water, where the largest waterfall is in the middle, between two small waterfalls on the right and left. This highest waterfall stretches for 20 meters. Some tourists refer to Banyumala as Twin Waterfalls.
Below the estuaries of the three waterfalls, you can find a large round pool with a diameter of about 15 meters. This pool is naturally formed and has a moderate depth, at breast height of an adult. Tourists are allowed to swim or just soak in the rocks by the pool.
The attraction of Banyumala Waterfall lies in its natural scenery, when viewed from a distance it looks like a painting. Even at certain moments, visitors can see a rainbow that appears after the rain stretches across the pond.
Banyumala was opened by local residents as a tourist spot around 2015. This waterfall is managed by residents of Wanagiri Village, but the facilities are inadequate. Especially in terms of road access to the waterfall location, it is still far from feasible. It takes about 15-20 minutes to reach the waterfall area.
The path that must be traversed is to pass several steps made of wood and still in the form of dirt. This ladder is safe enough to use down a rather steep cliff, but it may not be too difficult for you hiking enthusiasts.
Even though it is quite draining, the scenery offered is very much worth the sacrifice. Along the way, you will be presented with fresh air and amazing views of tropical forests and clove gardens belonging to local residents.
Banyumala Waterfall is located in Wanagiri Village in Singaraja near Lake Buyan and Tamblingan. We highly recommend visiting this place by car, as some parts of the road are not in good condition and some of the hills are very steep. In 3 hours you will arrive at the location if you depart from the Denpasar Area.
When going to swim, prepare a waterproof camera or gadget protector so you can get photos under clear water. You can also take some selfie or wefie pictures with natural scenery at Banyumala Waterfall.
If you want to enjoy serenity in this place, avoid visiting on weekends, when there are many visitors. The best time to go is during the dry season and you can leave early in the morning to be precise.
How To Get To Banyumala Twin Waterfall
The Banyumala Twin Waterfall is located high in Bali’s hilly region. It’s around a two-hour journey from Canggu and an hour and thirty minutes from Ubud.
The trip in from Bedugul is rather straightforward, and along the way, you’ll pass the popular Handara Gate and the Instagram-famous Wanagiri Hidden Hills. When you arrive at the parking lot, it’s about a 20-minute walk down. There are a few shady bamboo stairs, and the ascent can be difficult! As a result, it is unlikely to be suitable for children. We always rent scooters, which start at roughly 50,000 IDR per day, and go exploring on our own.
Best Time To Visit
The dry season, which lasts from April to October, is the greatest time to visit Bali. Munduk, in particular, is one of the most photographed locations on the island. As a result, it is usually quite packed with tourists!
However, as with any other attraction in Bali, the best time to visit is always early in the morning to avoid crowds!
