Labuan Bajo is definitely going to be the most hits destination in the next few short years. Labuan Bajo now is like Bali over 20 years ago, as the nature is still pure, not so commercial, not so touristic, yet the beauty of the island is very much hypnotizing.
Labuan Bajo has been popular since 20 years ago however only for it’s marine activities i.e. diving. But back then they only had a small local airport, but now since 5 years ago they have enlarge their airport and upgrade the status from local to international airport. The government has also been working on boosting the infrastructure of Labuan Bajo and working on developing the island as the next top Indonesian Tourist Destination after Bali, and they have been doing so well with increasing number of visitors from year to year.
Labuan Bajo tourism is different than Bali. If in Bali after the visitors landed, they will check in to the hotel where they stay to go on land trip the next day visiting different places on the island, in Bajo may not be the same. After the visitors landed, they will go check in mostly not to a hotel, but to a big boat with cabins and living area onboard, where they will cruise from one island to another for up to 5 days.
During their Labuan Bajo Trip, visitors, will enjoy not just the spectacular views of each island they are visiting, but also marine activities like diving, snorkeling, fishing etc. Every island along the way is unique, different and super beautiful.
Liveaboard Labuan Bajo can be booked depending on the visitor’s budget. You can book a budget liveaboard trip, medium liveaboard trip to luxury liveaboard Labuan Bajo Trip. Going on a trip to Labuan Bajo on a big boat like this will be an experience that you will not forget for the rest of your live.
During the duration of your Labuan Bajo Trip, you will forget all of your problems. You will not see any crowds, as you will be on the ocean. You sleep on the ocean, eat on the ocean, live on the ocean. Each boat has chefs who will cook for your breakfast, lunch or dinner. All boats are equipped with fresh water shower, AC on each room, dining and living room. Most food served are fresh seafood, but can request others if you prefer.
Labuan Bajo will not be the same in the next at least 5 years to come. Like Bali, it will be too crowded, touristic, and commercial. Therefore, I do recommend you to visit Labuan Bajo now, especially when it is not too busy.
The best time to visit is between April to July, as most of the islands are still green after the rain season that ends on April every year. April and July also not holiday season therefore it won’t be too crowded. Most tourist will come on July, August and September which is also good time to visit only that the island may be a little bit packed with people.
