Nusa Penida Island's Diamond Beach
A hidden beach, clear blue sea, limestones, breathtaking stairs, and palm trees combine to create a fantastic getaway. Diamond Beach is a spectacular hidden beach located at the bottom of a massive cliff on the island of Nusa Penida’s eastern side. Diamond Beach is the next beach over from Atuh Beach, another Nusa Penida treasure.
The beautiful Kelingking Beach on the island of Nusa Penida has brought the island of Nusa Penida to international attention in recent years. The entire island’s shoreline is breathtaking. From the top of the high cliffs, which stare down to the eternal blue waters of Nusa Penida, there are so many incredible views
Many of those cliffs gaze down on unreachable beaches, which is exactly what happened at Diamond Beach on Nusa Penida. From the cliffs, you could see the beautiful beach below. That is until a series of stairs was chiseled into the cliff’s side in a spectacular manner.
Diamond Beach on the island of Nusa Penida is now open to the public. The stairwell only takes a few minutes to reach the bottom but offers breathtaking views all the way up and down.
Diamond Beach, with its long stretch of white sand, palm trees, rock bathing pools, and glistening blue-green water, is the epitome of paradise, and I consider myself fortunate to have been among the first to appreciate its immaculate beauty.
Diamond Beach Viewpoint
Diamond Beach has a postcard-perfect view from the summit. A fantasy destination has been created by a magnificent white beach, silky blue ocean, limestones, and palm trees.
Diamond Beach is unquestionably one of the most significant things to do in Bali. You can go up to a tiny building with a view of the beach. From the parking lot, the viewpoint is a 5-minute walk.
Location and How to Get There
Diamond Beach is situated in Pejukutan, Nusa Penida, Kelungkung regency, Bali, Indonesia. The beach is close to two more Nusa Penida attractions that we highly recommend. To the left of Diamond Beach is Atuh Beach, while to the right is Thousand Island Perspective.
How to Get There
As previously stated, Diamond Beach Nusa Penida is located on the island’s east coast, adjacent to the more popular Atuh Beach. It takes around an hour to drive from Toya Pakeh Harbour to Diamond Beach, and leasing a scooter is the best way to get there.
These will most likely be available to rent for 80,000 IDR to 100,000 IDR per day from your hotel or guest house. We do not recommend using a car on Nusa Penida due to the fast-moving trucks and limited roads.
It took a while to get to the beach back in 2018. You can now travel down to the beach in 20 minutes thanks to the new limestone stairs. It is recommended that you only visit Diamond Beach during low tide. This side of the sea is quite choppy and dangerous. You may go over and around the rocks to get to the beach.
The most difficult portion comes after you’ve made it down to the ground, when you’ll have to navigate your way past some bushes, down a steep hill, and over some sea rocks. Swimming is not permitted on Diamond Beach. Every wave has a lot of coral and rocks in it, which makes it quite uncomfortable.
You can enjoy a terrific cool off in the sea if you are quick enough to enter between the waves. Simply be very aware of the present moment. It’s a new, unknown location, and there’s no one to help you.
What to Expect
Diamond Beach is divided into two sections, one with vivid green mossy rocks and tidal rock pools and the other with a little amount of trash washed up on the sand.
Diamond Beach Nusa Penida’s second section features gleaming white sand, coconut palm trees, little caves, and a great swimming place. As you lie on the undisturbed beach, the massive cliffs tower over you. Being beneath such a massive wall of rock is almost stressful.
The diamond-shaped rock at the water’s shallows, however, is the most important rock. After all, I suppose the beach is named after this diamond-shaped rock.On Nusa Penida’s Diamond Beach, a little warung sells cool drinks and native foods such as mie goreng and nasi goreng. It isn’t the finest beach for swimming because of the underlying reef and rock, but it is certainly feasible. There were also a few turtles in the area!
Best Time to Visit
Between March and November, visitors can check out Nusa Penida at any time of day, avoiding the rainy season, which runs from December to February.
Early in the morning, about 05:30 a.m. is the best time to check out for dawn. This Beach faces east because of its location. Diamond Beach, Atuh Beach, Molenteng Beach, Rumah Pohon Treehouse, and Thousand Island Viewpoint are all excellent options for good daybreak in Nusa Penida.

Diamond Beach Nusa Penida is the finest place to relax, tan, and swim for a few hours because of its vast stretch of pristine sand and brilliant blue sea.
The beach is still very wild and untamed due to the fact that it has just recently become accessible, indicating that it is highly beautiful but also potentially dangerous.
